Mandala

This is an exceptionally detailed Buddhist thangka depicting a Mandala surrounded by countless figures. The central feature is a large, ornate gold and blue circular design—the main Mandala—which is itself composed of concentric rings and smaller squares, representing the cosmic dwelling of a deity. The large central Mandala is flanked by four smaller, equally detailed mandalas in the corners, all set against a dense background of hundreds of tiny seated Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, and other spiritual beings. The entire piece is rendered with intricate lines and rich colors, heavily accented with raised gold detailing, conveying the immense complexity and sacred geography of the spiritual universe.
